Statement
Hilary Mills Lambert, a popular painter
and teacher, has been teaching art to elementary and middle
school children in Lafayette and Walnut Creek, California
for years. When not teaching she is painting in her studio
or outdoors. Her paintings and murals are focused on portraits,
wineries, New England landscapes, frogs, and dogs.
She was educated at Ithaca College and Cornell
University with a BA in Art History and Fine Art. She holds
her MS Degree from Pratt Institute in Communication Design.
She is attending the Academy of Art University in San Francisco
working towards an MFA.
I come from a place in Southern Vermont
in the shadow of the Green Mountains. These woods have captured
my imagination and have taught me the power of nature. I grew
up with outdoorsmen and English Springer Spaniels. It has
been a long road for me to finally come to painting for what
I do for a living and I am ready. After spending many years
in the computer gaming industry developing graphics for educational
and action software, I have taken the leap from a cubicle
to the outdoor office. Painting has allowed me the flexibility
to raise my family which I am very thankful for. It is that
elusive perfect balance of color that keeps me painting. Color
is everything.
